Dear John,
I’m excited to share that I’m releasing a book later this year: “The New Global Possible: Rebuilding Optimism in the Age of Climate Crisis.”
While we mostly know “what” needs to be done to solve the climate crisis, the real challenge lies in making it happen on the ground. In this book, I've focused on learning “how” to get it done.
I had the privilege of speaking with over 100 remarkable climate leaders, experts and changemakers from around the world. They all had incredible stories, offering powerful lessons on how to drive lasting change in a complicated world. I'm deeply grateful to them for sharing their insights to help us tackle the big questions of “how.”
How do we get countries to keep working together on climate action when multilateralism is declining? How do we harness technological innovation to protect nature, rather than destroy it? How do we dismantle entrenched power structures and rapidly transition to a clean, resilient economy?
Together, these stories illustrate the messiness of real progress, with meaningful steps forward rarely moving in a straight line, more often in a tortuous squiggle. But these stories also provide immense evidence for optimism. It’s my hope this book can bring some of that to you, too. I'm excited to share "The New Global Possible" with you on September 9th.
