Before I ran for the U.S. Senate, I led a team of investigative journalists exposing authoritarian abuses around the world.

This recent New York Times report reminded me of what we investigated overseas—only now, it’s happening here.

From the article:

Citing this series of crises, he has sought to draw on emergency powers that Congress has scattered throughout the United States Code over the centuries...

Legal scholars say the president’s actions are not authorized by the statutes he has cited and are, instead, animated by a different goal.

“He is declaring utterly bogus emergencies for the sake of trying to expand his power, undermine the Constitution and destroy civil liberties,” said Ilya Somin, a libertarian professor at Antonin Scalia Law School who represents a wine importer and other businesses challenging some of Mr. Trump’s tariffs.
This is unacceptable in the United States of America.

The President is invoking fake emergencies to bypass Congress, strip civil liberties, and consolidate power. He’s purging public servants and installing loyalists in every office. He’s not governing. He’s targeting. He’s punishing. He’s using the federal government as a weapon to crush dissent.

This fall into an un-American America must be stopped. We must regain Congressional power.

I’m the ONLY Democratic Senator up for re-election in a state Trump won.

That means I’m MAGA’s #1 target for defeat.

Help me beat them again, just like we did in 2021.

If we don’t hold the line in Georgia, we risk losing what checks remain on this runaway executive power. But if we do hold the line—and win big—we send a message: the Republic will not go quietly.

Please contribute to my campaign today.

Thank you for chipping in if you can.
