Last night, we finally passed one of the major pillars of the NY HEAT Act!
Thanks to the efforts of so many people like you, the NYS Legislature passed S.8417/A.8888, legislation that ends the outdated gas expansion rule--or "100 foot rule"--which forces New Yorkers to waste money on expensive gas pipelines we don't need.
This, combined with the All Electric Building Act, effectively puts an end to residential gas expansion in New York State. We're one of the first states in the nation to do it.
There's a lot to talk about here, and one more step to take, so join us tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7 PM for a full debrief.
