Celebrate IRC health worker Dr. Hazem for his first Father’s Day »

Dear John,
I couldn't wait to share this special Father's Day story with you.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Hazem Ali Nusairat's day-to-day life has changed significantly. He has helped Syrian refugee families stay healthy and safe in the midst of a national lockdown. He has also become a new father!

As a frontline health worker in Jordan, Dr. Hazem provides essential health services at IRC's clinic in Zaatari refugee camp. He sees around 30 patients every day and does phone consultations for elderly patients, ensuring they have the medications they need while staying home.

He also works to isolate and support patients who may have been exposed to the coronavirus, helping to prevent the spread of the disease among the already vulnerable Syrian refugee population.

Dr. Hazem is driven by his passion for serving humanity, even during these difficult times. He is always ready to provide whatever help he can give.

Now, Dr. Hazem is getting ready to celebrate his first Father's Day with his brand new baby daughter, Sara!

John, can you help us celebrate IRC health worker Dr. Hazem's first Father's Day? It would mean the world to us — and Dr. Hazem — if you could share his meaningful message to all fathers.

As a special surprise, we'll be reporting back to Dr. Hazem to let him know just how many people shared his message and story! Please be one of them.

Dr. Hazem shares his Father's Day message:

"I would like to send a message to all fathers about the importance of giving our children our time, our care and our love. These are the best things in life we could possibly give them."

When it comes to being a dad, Dr. Hazem is a natural. His greatest hope is that his daughter Sara is always in good health and growing up under his loving care.

The moment he arrives home from the clinic each day, he carefully follows infection prevention and control methods to keep his wife and baby safe.

Every day, our frontline health workers bring a deep compassion and care to the refugee families they serve.

Syrian refugee families at Zaatari camp have fled a brutal, ongoing conflict that have left them especially vulnerable to COVID-19. In addition to underlying health conditions due to years of war, many are now confronting the secondary impacts of the disease, including job and income losses and increasing food costs.

It's thanks to Dr. Hazem — and supporters like you — that fathers, mothers and children living in crisis have the critical aid they need to survive during these challenging times.

This Father's Day, help us honor Dr. Hazem by sharing his story with your friends on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. You can also forward this email to someone special, ahead of Father's Day.

Thank you for supporting the IRC and caring about the refugee families we support worldwide.
