When President Trump established the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), he vowed to investigate, uncover, and deliver accountability for the squandering of our hard-earned tax dollars. Over the past few months, DOGE has carried out this mission by exposing and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse.
Following the Trump Administration and DOGE’s historic work, the American people turned to Congress to codify these cuts. This led to the White House transmitting a $9.4 billion rescissions package to Congress, which requested lawmakers to claw back these previously appropriated funds.
In total, the package includes $8.3 billion in cuts to woke and weaponized foreign aid spending and $1.1 billion in cuts to the left-wing Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Take a look at several examples of these necessary cuts:
$3 million for Iraqi Sesame Street.
$4 million for “legume systems research.”
$500,000 for electric buses in Rwanda.
$567,000 for LGBTQI+ programs in Uganda.
$1 million for voter ID in Haiti.
$33,000 for “being LGBTI in the Caribbean.”
$643,000 for LGBTQI+ programs in the Western Balkans.
$8,000 for promoting vegan food in Zambia.
$67,000 for feeding insect powder to children in Madagascar.
$889,000 for electoral reforms and voter education in Kenya.
$167,000 for free education & healthcare to Ecuadorian and Venezuelan migrants.
$6 million for “Net Zero Cities” in Mexico.
$5.1 million for programs to “strengthen the resilience of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer global movements.”
$6 million for “supporting media organizations and civic life of Palestinians.”
$3 million for “sexual reproductive health” in Venezuela.
$2.1 million for “climate resilience” in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and East Africa.
$614,700 for “climate adaptation,” including to grow coral reefs in the Caribbean.
$135 million in contributions to the corrupt World Health Organization.
$833,000 for services for “transgender people, sex workers and their clients and sexual networks” in Nepal.
$3 million for circumcision, vasectomies, and condoms in Zambia.
$1.1 billion for the left-wing Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which uses your hard-earned tax dollars to fund propaganda machines like NPR and PBS.
Notably, it only takes a simple majority in both the House and Senate to approve these commonsense cuts.
Thankfully, the House has already taken action.
Last week, House Republicans passed the White House’s $9.4 billion rescissions package — delivering on our promise to codify the DOGE cuts, defend American taxpayers, and cut wasteful spending. I proudly voted YES, as I believe your tax dollars have no place funding woke nonsense.
I urge the Senate to swiftly pass the rescissions bill so we can send this critical legislation to President Trump’s desk and officially codify our first round of DOGE cuts. That’s right: The $9.4 billion rescissions bill is just the beginning. We can — and must — codify all of President Trump and DOGE’s cuts.
