Dear Georgian,

Last week saw major developments in the Middle East. Israel has an inherent right to self-defense, and the United States must stand firm in our support as Israel continues to fight to protect all people from Iranian nuclear threats. No one benefits, especially the people of Iran, from the development of an Iranian nuclear weapon. I applaud the bravery and strength of the Israel Defense Forces as they work to halt the Iranian regime. Under no circumstances should Iran target the U.S.!

Last Saturday was the U.S. Army's 250th Birthday. Our soldiers have been defending and protecting our great nation for two and a half centuries, and we are extremely grateful for their service.

As always, my staff and I are here to help. If you need assistance with a federal agency or have comments or concerns to share with me, please do not hesitate to call my Warner Robins, Tifton, or Washington, D.C. offices. Sincerely,

Discussing USDA Efficiency and Disaster Relief with Secretary Rollins

Last Wednesday, United States Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins testified before the House Agriculture Committee. We discussed her continued efforts to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in Biden-era Inflation Reduction Act programs that fall under the USDA’s jurisdiction.

Secretary Rollins also assured me the crucial funding for Disaster Relief block grants will be rolled out in the coming weeks, providing essential relief for many farmers in GA-08. I look forward to continuing to work with her administration on ensuring efficiency in USDA programs.

Meeting with Georgia's Agriculture Leaders

Last week, I met with Ag Commissioner Tyler Harper in my DC office, along with members of the Georgia General Assembly, Georgia Agribusiness Council and the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers. We discussed the current issues facing Georgia agriculture and the timeline of the much-needed disaster assistance to our farmers following last year’s storms.

I appreciate Commissioner Harper’s strong leadership in working with USDA to deliver this critical disaster relief approved as part of the American Relief Act 2025 passed by Congress on December 21, 2024.
