John,
During President Trump’s first 100 days in office, The Department of
Justice (DOJ) terminated the entirety of Vera’s federal funding for public
safety programs.
They didn’t stop there. The DOJ cut hundreds more grants, totalling more
than $820 million in criminal justice funding.

These funds support organizations doing on-the-ground, lifesaving work,
and cutting them threatens the well-being of the people we serve.
[ [link removed] ]We cannot let these vital services disappear. Tell Congress: Our
communities cannot afford to lose this support. >>
These cuts are not accidental. This administration has repeatedly attacked
independent, mission-driven organizations that are a fundamental part of
civil society. Its sudden termination of funding for community violence
intervention, victim services, youth and criminal justice grants will make
neighborhoods less safe.

people that keep our communities safe. Add your name. >>

This is your chance to make a difference. Tell Congress Trump’s attacks
must stop.
