We’re not going to let extremists tear this down.

John, it's Katie.

One of the proudest moments from my time in the Arizona legislature was exactly 12 years ago today, in 2013, when a bipartisan Medicaid expansion bill that I voted for became law.

Together, Democrats and a coalition of moderate Republicans faced obstruction, name-calling, and months of gridlock.

But we stood strong, and in the end, we delivered healthcare to nearly 300,000 more Arizonans. We showed what’s possible when we put people over politics.

Today, nearly 1 in 4 Arizonans rely on Medicaid. That expansion saved rural hospitals from closing, gave working families the coverage they needed, and made our healthcare system more affordable and more accessible.

Now, that progress is under attack.

Republicans in the House — including my GOP opponent, Andy Biggs — voted for a bill that would gut Medicaid, strip healthcare from millions of Americans, and end the very program that helps keep Arizona’s hospitals open and our communities healthy.

One thing’s for sure: Andy Biggs is not fighting for everyday Arizonans. He’s fighting for the approval of Trump and billionaire donors. If he becomes governor, he’ll sell out our state to stay in Trump’s good graces. I’m not going to let that happen.

But I need your help to fight back. Will you pitch in today to help me continue fighting to defend Medicaid and safeguard our rights?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Let’s be clear: Arizona’s Medicaid expansion changed hundreds of thousands of lives. It protected our neighbors, supported our economy, and helped ensure that every Arizonan, no matter their ZIP code, could access quality healthcare.

We can’t let extremists tear it down.

Thanks for standing with me.
