Key dates for your 2025 hunting calendar 

Summer means a lull in hunting activity, but you'll want to mark your calendar for these important dates leading up to the fall 2025 hunting season:

Big game hunting dates:


* Results of the deer and antelope draw for residents and nonresidents will be available *June 20.*
* The deadline for entering the Super Tag and Combo lotteries [ [link removed] ] is *July 4.*
* Deer and antelope permits go on sale over-the-counter on *July 9 *for Nebraska residents and resident landowners and* July 23 *for nonresidents.
* The deadline for residents to enter the Bighorn Sheep Lottery [ [link removed] ] is *Aug. 1*. 
* The 2025 November firearm deer season is *Nov. 15-23.*

Upland Hunting:


* *Oct. 25* is the opener for pheasant, quail and partridge, while prairie grouse begins *Sept. 1*.

Waterfowl Hunting:


* Early teal season begins* Sept. 6.*

Now is a great time to encourage new or novice hunters to *take a hunter safety course.* It's required for hunters ages 12 through 29; find course options at our website [ [link removed] ].
