Happy Pride, John!

This month is a bold and bright celebration of love, identity and how far we’ve come — and it’s a powerful reminder of how strong we are when we stand together.

Pride began as a protest. At Stonewall in 1969, brave LGBTQ+ people risked their safety and lives to demand dignity and freedom. Their courage lit a fire that still fuels crucial movements to this day.

But, right now, we’re facing a tremendous challenge. Already in 2025, 593 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been introduced or passed nationwide. From attacks on LGBTQ+ kids to threats against marriage equality, the far-right wants to roll back all of our hard-won rights. Unfortunately, under a second Trump administration, those attacks are escalating.

I’ve spent many years fighting for LGBTQ+ rights, and I’m honored to stand with this community every step of the way. But if we want to keep up this fight, we need more leaders who believe in real equality and justice for all.
