This is a day I hoped I would never see in America.

Donald Trump has manufactured a crisis and is inflaming conditions because he wants spectacle and violence. He chose escalation. He chose force. He chose theatrics over public safety. He and his loyalists thrive on division, because it allows them to take more power and exert even more control.
Team, I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican – this is a line we cannot cross as a nation, and an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism. Instead of working with me to find a solution, Trump and other Republicans are attacking me personally – Mike Johnson even said I should be “tarred and feathered”.
That’s why I’m fighting back.
We just filed an emergency motion to block Trump’s illegal actions immediately.
We're also suing the Trump administration for bypassing the executive authority of our country’s governors.
I’m doing everything I can to stop this completely reckless, illegal, and unconstitutional act – an abuse of power that could extend beyond California to any state he chooses. This very real threat to the foundation of our republic applies to all of us – to you.
