John, few people know more about the importance of summer meals for kids than Candy Biehle, the Child Nutrition Director for Smithville Independent School District in Texas.

Candy has been working to end childhood hunger for 30 years, and she’s been a fierce advocate for flexible approaches to feeding kids during the summer — like allowing families to pick up summer meals and eat them at home instead of at a food pickup site.
