Hi John,
I've got some incredible news for you: the Congressional Freethought Caucus (CFC), the vital group fighting for reason and church-state separation on Capitol Hill, just reached an amazing milestone: 31 members!
In these challenging times, it's more important than ever to celebrate progress. And thanks to the relentless work we do together with supporters like you, the good news for secularism keeps rolling in.
We were already celebrating when Representatives Suzanne Bonamici (OR-1) and Chris Deluzio (PA-17) joined, bringing us to a strong 30. But now, we're thrilled to welcome Representative Kelly Morrison (MN-3) as our 31st member! What makes this even more exciting? She's the 10th new member to join the Caucus in 2025 alone!
That's right – we've seen exponential growth this year, and it’s a direct result of the dedicated work we do together. Representative Morrison is a fantastic addition, and her joining is a testament to the boots-on-the-ground efforts of our Policy Director Rachel Deitch, working hand-in-hand with our local partners at HumanistsMN. It means something special that Rep. Morrison was already part of the Minnesota Secular Government Caucus, which we helped establish back in 2022. Our collaboration with HumanistsMN gave secular Minnesotans the guidance and resources to get Rep. Morrison on board.
The CFC isn't just some "atheist club" for Congress; it's a powerful bloc of lawmakers committed to championing reason-based public policy, firmly upholding the separation of church and state, actively opposing discrimination against non-religious people, and tirelessly defending freedom of thought around the world. Every new member strengthens our hand in the critical fight against the Religious Right.
This rapid growth, with 10 new members just this year, shows that the outdated stigma around non-religiosity in politics is fading. Our influence is undeniably on the rise, and we are seizing this moment.
We need to keep this momentum going, and that's where you come in.
And to honor the 10 new members who have joined us in 2025, proving just how much we're expanding our reach, would you consider becoming a monthly donor with just $10? That consistent support makes all the difference, giving us the steady resources we need to identify, engage, and bring even more secular champions into the fold.
Your generous contributions make these victories possible. It’s how we ensure that the voices for reason and secularism continue to grow stronger and more influential in Congress.
Thank you for being a vital partner in this work.
Sincerely,
Ron Millar
