This pandemic has shown the power and importance of strong, Democratic governors -- Jay has been praised nationally as an example of measured, science-driven leadership in Washington state as Donald Trump has failed to lead and only stoked the fires of division and hate.

Jay hasn't fundraised for more than six months, which means he's been able to keep his focus on the safety and recovery of Washingtonians in this crisis -- but he's also behind on fundraising when the Republican Governors Association has raised over $53.1 million and counting. Jay is a climate action champion, governing our state with the cleanest energy grid in the country and taking bold steps toward 100% clean electricity. He has helped lead the resistance against Trump's racist and xenophobic executive orders as well as the president's sabotage of health care coverage by expanding care to nearly 800,000 people and dropping Washington's uninsured rate to record lows.

In the midst of this pandemic, Jay has taken swift and extensive action to alleviate the economic fallout as much as possible through grants for small businesses, enhancement of unemployment benefits, emergency cash assistance, and housing protections like an eviction moratorium and a rent hike freeze. While he prioritizes ending this public health crisis and a safe start to reopening Washington, we need to have his back ahead of his re-election this November.
