Something special is happening right now in Kentucky, John.
For months, corporate Democrats had convinced pundits that the self-described “pro-Trump Democrat” Amy McGrath was the only candidate for Senate in Kentucky with the momentum to defeat Mitch McConnell.
But according to the Lexington Herald, progressive Charles Booker “is the only one generating excitement among young people and old.” And a majority of primary voters agree in a new poll out today:
Civiqs/Data for Progress Primary Poll (June 13-15, 2020):
Booker: 44%
McGrath: 36%
Over the last few weeks, Charles Booker has completely changed the conversation around who can beat Mitch McConnell. His leadership in the fight to defend Black lives, especially in the aftermath of Breonna Taylor's murder, proves he is a leader who can meet the moment.
Charles is showing he can inspire working families across Kentucky and draw voters off the sidelines to defeat Mitch once and for all, which is why we’re proud to endorse his campaign. But first, he has a primary to win on Tuesday.
Will you join us in supporting Charles by splitting a contribution between his campaign and WFP today?

Charles has lived the challenges working families face. He was born and raised in the west end of Louisville, in one of the poorest zip codes in the state. Even with food stamps and free lunch, Charles still sometimes went hungry. And after he found out he had Type-1 diabetes, there were times when his family had to ration his insulin just to survive.
It’s those experiences that inspired him to lead the charge for Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and ending Donald Trump's racist and inhumane immigration policies. He’s also been a vocal advocate of the Black Lives Matter movement in Louisville, which gained national attention after police officers fatally shot Breonna Taylor in her home.
Charles’ visionary campaign speaks to the heart of the urgent needs of Kentucky’s working families. He has won the support of WFP champions like Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and AOC. Momentum is on our side, but we can’t get complacent. It’s going to take a lot of work to continue reaching voters across Kentucky in these final few days and they need your help to do it.
Chip in $3 or more to Charles’ campaign and WFP right now to have an immediate impact on the outcome of this race.
