John – These last 10 days have been a whirlwind. It started with the LA protests, the Trump administration’s doubling down of ICE deportations in wake of them, and Sen. Padilla being removed from a press conference.

Then, the brutal murder of two Minnesota state legislators.

Then on Sunday, a bystander at the No Kings Rally in Salt Lake City died after being accidentally shot at the protest.

Much of the violence in these recent days have been horrific acts of politically-motivated gun violence. We know that guns are one of the leading causes of death, and we’re seeing that statistic play out in real time.

At this moment in history, it’s more important than ever that we’re tackling what we can – however small it may be. And right now, we need people in office who are willing to take on the gun violence epidemic. Ending gun violence and ending easy access to firearms for people who shouldn’t have them is one step in the right direction.
