| Dear John, I want to take a moment to personally introduce myself and share a little bit about who I am—before the political headlines, before the titles, and long before the pressure of public office. My name is Burt Jones. I’m a sixth-generation Georgian, a lifelong conservative, a proud husband and father, and like many of you, someone who has spent his life working hard, building a business, and doing his best to live by his faith and raise his family right. Before politics—and even before business—I was a student-athlete at the University of Georgia. I walked on to the football team, earned my place through grit and determination, and was honored to be elected permanent team captain during our 2002 SEC Championship season. That experience taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, resilience, and putting your team first—principles that have guided me throughout my life. After college, I poured those lessons into helping grow our family business, Jones Petroleum, into a company that now employs nearly 2,000 hardworking Georgians. I also founded JP Capital & Insurance, building it from the ground up into a successful risk-management firm. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished—and even prouder that it’s been done right here in Georgia. In 2012, I answered the call to public service and ran for the State Senate. Over the years, I fought to attract new businesses, create jobs, and make Georgia the best state in the country to live, work, and raise a family. I’ve championed conservative reforms like tax cuts, school choice, cracking down on the fentanyl crisis, keeping biological boys out of girls’ sports, and strengthening ballot security to protect the integrity of our elections. President Trump recognized that work, and I was honored to serve on his administration’s Foreign and Domestic Trade Council—and as his Georgia campaign co-chair dating back to 2016—to help advance policies that put American jobs and families first. Now, as your Lieutenant Governor, I’m continuing to fight every day for conservative values, economic opportunity, and accountability in government. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished—but I know the work isn’t finished yet. That’s why I’m asking you to stand with me. If you believe in the kind of leadership that puts Georgia families first, that stands up to the radical Left, and that never forgets where we come from—then I hope you’ll join our team and help keep this momentum going. I’ll never back down from a fight when it comes to our values. I’ll never stop working to make this state stronger. And I’ll always be grateful to have you by my side.
