Did you know that 40 percent of all refugees are children?
Every year, millions of children are forced from their homeland. Many times, they leave everything they have known behind. The journey is dangerous. The losses are traumatic. The help they need is significant.
Thanda* and her mother fled their home country due to war. They sought safety in the nearby jungle, but the harsh conditions made life very difficult.
When her mother passed away, Thanda was left all alone. As a teenager, she could not return home to a war-torn country. But she was also unable to care for herself in a new land.
Thankfully people like you stepped in to help. Pastor Htay, a local pastor and Unto partner, works among refugees like Thanda. Recently, he had the opportunity to show a film about Jesus and share the gospel. Thanda was present, and Thanda responded in faith.
Although Thanda continues to face many challenges, she now knows she is not alone. God sees and cares for her situation and has a plan for her.
The local team is hoping to help Thanda join a local children’s home so she can live safely with other refugee children. Please join us in praying that she will receive just the right care after all she has endured.
