Dear Ward 8 Residents,

On Friday, June 19th, Mayor Bowser will announce when Phase Two of ReOpening DC will begin. Phase Two will start on Monday, June 22, or thereafter. Here is what residents can expect during this phase of the reopening:

MASS GATHERINGS
Mass gatherings of more than 50 people are prohibited (100 people for churches).
RETAIL
Nonessential retail businesses may have customers if they operate at no more than 50% capacity.

PERSONAL CARE SERVICES
Tanning, tattoo, waxing, threading, electrolysis, cryotherapy, facial, and nail salons may operate as follows:
* Services may be provided by appointment only.
* Stations must be at least six feet apart.
* No waiting inside the shop.

INDOOR DINING
Indoor dining will be allowed as long as restaurants do not exceed 50% capacity.
* Diners must be seated, and patrons must place orders and be served while sitting at tables.
* All tables must be at least six feet apart.
* No more than six people seated at a table. No self-serve buffets.

FITNESS & RECREATION
Gyms and health clubs, yoga, dance, and workout studios will open with capacity limits of 5 persons per 1,000 square feet.
* Group classes limited, with at least 10 feet between each person and equipment.
* DPR Pools may open for structured activities, including lessons and lap swimming.
* Playgrounds, courts, and fields will open.

** Coronavirus Data for June 18, 2020

Washington, DC – The District’s reported data for Wednesday, June 17, 2020 includes 56 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 9,903.

The District reported four additional COVID-19 related deaths.
* 55-year-old male
* 65-year-old male
* 69-year-old female
* 74-year-old male

Tragically, 527 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.
*All Data are preliminary and are subject to change based on additional reporting

DC residents experiencing any COVID-19 symptom (fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, congestion, body aches, chills, runny nose) or with known exposure to COVID-19 should get a COVID-19 test.
