“Georgia Democrats set new primary turnout record, outpacing GOP voters”
- Atlanta Journal Constitution

John,

I reached out last week about an incredible Democratic upset in Pennsylvania, so when I saw this headline I had to let you know the latest.
Despite the blatant voter suppression, and despite waiting for hours in lines, more people in Georgia showed up to cast their ballots for Democrats than Republicans.

This shows an incredible shift once thought impossible. And we’re working to continue this trend across the country, so if you’re able, please make a contribution today so we can continue to build power and invest in so many similar communities. [[link removed]]

One thing that drew me to Emerge years ago is that it doesn’t follow the traditional insider model of going to the same ten ‘battleground’ states year after year, ignoring so many critical areas.

And it worked! Of our 13 women on the ballot, 11 won and 1 moved to a runoff – that's a 92% success rate and 12 women leaders that are changing the face of politics in Georgia. We invest where it seems there are clear needs and hunger from local leaders to invest in building long-term power.

The theory of change behind Emerge’s program is simple: the more Democratic women we have running for office, the better. And if you’re interested in running for office but you’re not sure how to dig in, we supply you with the training and support you need to get started and reach voters as we connect you with a national network of women who have run and won before.

Like so many other worthy advocacy organizations, our fundraising has taken a hit during the COVID-19 crisis, and we have some catching up to do this month. So I’m asking you: Today if you’re able, can you make a donation to get more Democratic women elected? [[link removed]]

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Chip in: $5 [[link removed]]
Chip in: $15 [[link removed]]
Chip in: $25 [[link removed]]
Chip in: $50 [[link removed]]
Or, chip in another amount [[link removed]]

Not everyone can donate right now, so please only give if you are able, we’re so grateful to have you as a part of our community.

Looking forward to sharing more good news soon,

Anne Wakabayashi
Political Director

This email was sent to [email protected]. Emerge is a national organization working to recruit, train, and get Democratic women elected across the country, and we are so grateful to have you on our team. Our alums are strong voices for Democratic values — and they are working to bring their values up and down the ballot to fight for working families. They are fighting for critical issues that affect our communities like the environment, accessible and affordable healthcare, social justice and education equity. We need more alums fighting for us across the country.

Email is the best way for us to keep you informed about what’s happening with our work. You may notice that we send a lot of emails asking for your support—that’s because we win when everyone does what they can to help. Our organization depends on thousands of actual people who care about our democracy and want to see positive change in our communities and across our country by building power through investing in Democratic women.
