Charles is the best candidate to take on Mitch McConnell — and beating McConnell will be a big step toward building a people first future.
In fact, just today, the Supreme Court struck down the Trump administration's attempt to end DACA. While that's great news, it's only a temporary reprieve. We need a permanent solution to DACA — but we won't get one with Mitch McConnell in the Senate.
Charles Booker is a true people first candidate. He's lived the struggle that other politicians just talk about. A lifelong Kentuckian, he was born and raised in the west end of Louisville, in one of the poorest ZIP codes in the state. Even with food stamps and free lunch, Charles still sometimes went hungry. After Charles was diagnosed with diabetes, his family had to ration his insulin to survive.
For the last decade, Charles has been fighting for Kentuckians, working at every level of government for the people.
In 2018, he was elected to the Kentucky State House of Representatives, becoming the youngest black state legislator in nearly a century. As a legislator, Charles has championed gun reform, voting rights, labor laws, and more.
Charles is exactly the kind of candidate we need in the Senate. And he's the right choice to take on Mitch McConnell. With his primary coming up on Tuesday, we're running out of time to give him our support.
