Let me get straight to the point: I just endorsed Jamaal Bowman, a
progressive champion running for Congress in a tight race against a
corporate PAC–funded Democrat. Many of my friends, including Senator
Bernie Sanders and Representatives Ayanna Pressley, Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez, and Katie Porter, have endorsed him as well. And he needs
this team's support to win his critical primary election this coming
Tuesday. Are you in?

[ [link removed] ]If you're able to make a donation at this time, will you pitch in
a $3 donation to Jamaal's campaign? The primary is less than
a week away, so time is of the essence.

Jamaal was born in New York City and raised by a single mother in public
housing. He's a fierce fighter for high-quality public schools, affordable
housing, and rooting out systemic racism.

In short, Jamaal is exactly the kind of person we need in Washington
fighting for big, structural change.

As a champion of working families, Jamaal isn't taking a dime of lobbyist
money. But in these final few days before the election, a Republican Super
PAC is flooding the district with hundreds of thousands of dollars to help
Jamaal's opponent win the Democratic primary.^1

The people of NY-16 deserve an accountable, compassionate leader who will
make their voices heard. That's why I am honored to fight shoulder to
shoulder with Jamaal in this race and the work to come.

Fighting for working families is at the core of Jamaal's character. A
public school educator for the past 20 years, Jamaal has fought tirelessly
for low-income students and families of color. He's a champion for early
childhood education, and he's the founding principal of a great public
school in New York City.

Through his work in education, he has seen firsthand how low-income
families and families of color are locked out of opportunity by a system
that's rigged for the wealthy and the privileged few.

Jamaal knows that we can't afford temporary fixes and short-term deals if
we want to fix the core problems that got us to our current crisis.

In Congress, Jamaal will fight for Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and
bold policies to help put an end to systemic racism. Jamaal supports the
wealth tax I proposed last year that would help level the playing field by
funding universal child care, cancelling student debt, and providing free
public college and technical school.

That's why I was so proud to endorse Jamaal.

And that's why many of my friends, including Senator Bernie Sanders and
Representatives Ayanna Pressley, Katie Porter, and Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez, who represents his neighboring district, have also endorsed
him.

We need Jamaal in Congress.
