“Right now I'm standing in front of the Aurora ICE detention facility where I'm about to go volunteer as a pro bono attorney for a migrant who is in this facility.”

That’s from Mario Nicolais, The Lincoln Project’s attorney, who was at the prison east of Denver, Colorado on Monday, June 16.

After the massive crowds at the thousands of “No Kings” protests on Saturday dwarfed the military parade Trump threw himself in Washington, D.C., he’s calling for expanded deportation operations in Democratic-led cities. That includes Los Angeles, where he’s already sent the National Guard and Marines to quell anti-ICE demonstrations.

“ICE Officers are herewith ordered, by notice of this TRUTH, to do all in their power to achieve the very important goal of delivering the single largest Mass Deportation Program in History,” Trump wrote Sunday on social media.

“We must expand efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America’s largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside.”

That rant comes amid reports that ICE is $1 billion over budget and is set to run out of funds within three months.

In his video, Mario talks about what we can all do right now.

“A lot of people have been asking, what can I do in these times that are so difficult,” Mario said. “I know that a lot of us marched and protested for ‘No Kings’ this past weekend. But I can tell you also that organizations need help for representation in these trying times. If you're asking what you can do, then you can go and you can help out local organizations that advocate for migrants and advocate for people who are being improperly detained — even if you're not a lawyer.”

There's Rain on Trump's Parade, but Millions from L.A. to Paris Turn out for 'No Kings' Protests

Trump’s $45 million military parade celebrating his own birthday on Saturday, June 14 looks to be a bit of a bust, between rainy weather and disappointing turnout. But the more than 2,000 “No Kings” protests across America — and overseas — have been going strong.
