Hi John,
With only a few weeks left in Oregon’s legislative session, we still have moves to make to pass the full Energy Affordability and Resilience package. These bills and investments are necessary to protect Oregonians from skyrocketing utility bills and extreme weather, like the recent heat wave. Will you take action to push this full package across the finish line? |
As an OLCV member, you've likely heard a fair amount about this package. The folks you count on at OLCV to carry out your values at the legislature have been working double-time with the Building Resilience coalition to make sure this important work is done. Just last week, the POWER Act (HB 3546) passed to hold large, corporate electricity users accountable for their costs on our system. We have momentum now, and it's up to us to keep it up! Don’t let these lawmakers end this session until they pass:
- Full Funding for Climate Resilience to reinvest in three programs:
- Rental Home Heat Pump Program (OR Dept. of Energy), $30m
-
Community Heat Pump Deployment Program (ODOE), $15m
- Community Resilience Hubs (Office of Resilience & Emergency Management), $10m
-
Fairness & Affordability in Residential (FAIR) Energy (ratemaking reform to favor consumers)
- Get the Junk Out of Rates (stop utilities from charging certain expenses like lobbying, advertising, and association fees to customers)
-
Performance Based Ratemaking (modernizing how utilities profit by incentivizing performance over infrastructure investment)
- Oregon Energy Assistance Program (helps low income Oregonians pay utility bills and avoid shutoffs)
-
One Stop Shop 2.0 (energy efficiency incentive navigation)
Use this tool to email your lawmakers today and tell them they must act NOW to pass the full Energy Affordability & Resilience package. |
Let’s keep up the pressure these final few weeks and secure these critical wins to protect Oregonians!
Onward, |
