News from Representative Larson

**Register for the telephone town hall here**

Dear Friends,

I will be hosting a telephone town hall Wednesday, June 18th, at 5:00 PM. You can register for the event HERE.

House Republicans voted to pass President Trump’s bill to defund PBS and NPR. This could grind PBS Kids programming to a halt and shutter local affiliates across the country. I voted no and will continue to fight to protect public media.

As I continue to fight to enhance Social Security, I am also working to keep your private information safe. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court ruled to allow Elon Musk’s ‘DOGE’ access to sensitive information at the Social Security Administration, including Social Security numbers, income histories, and medical records. I introduced legislation to stop this breach of privacy.

Additionally, last month, House Republicans voted to pass their tax plan by one vote – a bill that cuts Medicaid and SNAP nutrition benefits for millions of Americans and could lead to $500 billion in cuts to Medicare in order to pay for tax cuts that disproportionately benefit the wealthy.

It also does not include President Trump’s promise to stop taxing Social Security. Under their plan, 24 million Americans will still pay taxes on their benefits. I opposed these devastating cuts and unfulfilled promises and am focused on not only protecting but strengthening programs like Medicare and Social Security.

As your representative, I want to hear from you. I look forward to discussing these issues and more and answering some of your questions on Wednesday.

You can register for the telephone town hall HERE.
