Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional District, and our country as a whole:
Army 250th Birthday
250 years of service. 250 years of sacrifice. 250 years of defending our freedom. Last week, the United States Army celebrated its 250th Birthday. I would like to thank all of our Army veterans and active and reserve Army soldiers living in TX-21 and throughout our country for their service to our country.
DOGE Cuts
Last week, I voted for H.R. 4, the Rescissions Act of 2025, that would begin codifying the cuts that the Department of Government Efficiency identified. President Trump and Director Russ Vought should continue Congress any recessions package that cuts waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending.
Here is what was included in this recissions package:
- Rescinded: $6 million for Net Zero cities in Mexico. - Rescinded: $5.1 million for programs to strengthen the resilience of LGBT global movements. - Rescinded: $1.5 million to advance DEI in Serbia's workplaces. - Rescinded: $2 million for Moroccan pottery classes. - Rescinded: $2 million for sex changes and LGBT activism in Guatemala. - Rescinded: $6 million to fund tourism in Egypt. - Rescinded: $32,000 for transgender comic books in Peru. - Rescinded: $1 million to help disabled people in Tajikistan become Climate Leaders.
H.R. 589, the FACE Act Repeal Passes House Judiciary Committee
The FACE Act has been undeniably - and predictably - weaponized to target pro-life Americans while turning a blind eye to the destruction, vandalism, and even firebombing of pregnancy resource centers and churches. Data my office obtained from Merrick Garland's DOJ showed that 97% of FACE Act prosecutions from 1994-2024 were against pro-life Americans - resulting in an elderly death camp survivor, a progressive activist, a 75 year-old grandmother, and a father of 7 being prosecuted and even given time in jail.
The federal government has too many unnecessary laws that can be abused and weaponized against the people. No American should have the heavy hand of the federal government come down on them simply because they’re speaking out for - or against - life, regardless of who is in control of the executive branch.
I would like to thank Chairman Jordan for partnering with me on this effort, and I am grateful that my colleagues answered the call and passed H.R. 589, the FACE Act Repeal Act out of committee.
While President Trump has rightfully pardoned FACE Act defendants unfairly prosecuted under President Biden, Congress must bring this bill to the floor and send it to the President's desk, ensuring that no future administration can weaponize this law against pro-lifers ever again.

House Judiciary Passes, H.R. 2159, the Count the Crimes to Cut Act
Freedom is just an illusion when the government buries its own citizens under ridiculous and never-ending criminal laws. Almost any American could be indicted for some crime, often without even knowing they had violated a law or regulation. Worse - we have zero idea how many laws there actually are. Past efforts to count the crimes were abandoned because it was “too hard.” Some estimate that there are over 5,000 crimes in statute, and upwards of 300,000 regulations that carry criminal penalties.
This needs to change, and I am proud that the House Judiciary Committee took the next step in obtaining a proper accounting of the number of federal crimes and their frequency of use against American citizens by passing my bipartisan bill H.R. 2159, the Count the Crimes to Cut Act. It is a necessary first step in fixing this problem and ensuring that Americans are not caught in the crosshairs of overcriminalization.
Congress must bring this bill to the floor to send to the President's desk and crack down on overcriminalization at the hands of the federal government.

Iran Attacks Israel
The recent attacks in Israel are a reminder of the stakes involved with defending one’s national sovereignty and standing against the evils of the Iranian Regime and its dangerous promotion of terrorism and radical Islam.
I stand our friend and ally, Israel, as it rightfully takes action to defend itself, and I am unequivocal in my belief that denying Iran nuclear capability is firmly in the national security interest of the United States.
We pray for the peace and security of the Israeli people as they face these attacks with courage and resolve.
