Last week, I was proud to join community members to speak out against President Trump’s latest travel ban.
In 2017, as your Attorney General, I challenged the initial Muslim travel ban — and we won. In fact, Washington was the first state to challenge Donald Trump in court and the first state to defeat him. While it is difficult to believe we are back here again with another travel ban, I know Washington will continue to lead on this issue as we did before.
We have a president who does not understand some basic things about what our country stands for, and what we believe in. We won’t let that stop us fighting for Washington’s values.
This weekend, tens of thousands of Washingtonians gathered to peacefully protest the Administration’s actions. We showed Donald Trump and the country what people power can and should look like.
We will uphold our values in the face of the chaos from the Trump administration.
