John,
Super PACs are corrupting our politics. They funnel dark money from
billionaires and corporations into our Democratic primaries to elect
candidates who will protect the rich and exploit the working class.
But we can change this. State Democratic Parties have the power to BAN
super PACs from our primary elections and ensure the people get to choose
our candidates. [ [link removed] ]Add your name to this petition urging them to do just
that!
Ever since the Supreme Court’s disastrous Citizens United decision fifteen
years ago, super PACs have taken over our political system. In the past
three election cycles, billionaire-backed interests like AIPAC and
cryptocurrency groups have spent hundreds of millions to defeat bold
progressives like Justice Democrats Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush – and to
help install Donald Trump as president.
A report shows that just 100 billionaire families spent $2.6 billion to
influence the 2024 elections. We have to get this influence out of our
politics to deliver the bold, working-class victories our communities
deserve.
As we continue calling for Citizens United to be overturned once and for
all, we can build a party that works for us and ban billionaires from
buying Democratic primaries.
State Democratic Parties have the power to stop this corrupt spending.
Now, we must demand they use it.
