John,

The Supreme Court issued an important ruling today for people who came to this country as undocumented children.

In a 5-4 decision, the court opined that the Trump administration’s reasoning for discontinuing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program was flawed. The program allows for individuals brought to this country as children to live and work here and to pursue higher education without worrying about being deported.

This is a victory for all of DREAMers (recipients of DACA status) in Arizona and the United States, but it is not the end of the fight for undocumented people.

Help me get to Congress so I can continue the fight for the rights of undocumented people in our country. [[link removed]]

Congress has failed to codify the DACA program or offer any sort of permanent solution for decades. That’s part of the reason I’m in this fight, John. Because we need leaders who have the courage to do what is right, not “representatives” who continue to kick the can of policymaking down the road while millions suffer from government inaction.

This issue is also personal for me. My friend Frankie took his own life not long after being deported to Mexico a few years ago. He arrived in Arizona as a baby, but struggled to get through all the red tape our system puts in front of people like him. His unscrupulous attorney did not file his DACA paperwork correctly, and he was deported to a country he barely knew.

That’s why I’ve proposed Frankie’s Law, which will:

Normalize the status of undocumented people in the United States
Abolish ICE
Establish an Immigrant Bill of Rights
Repeal Trump’s racist bans
End dehumanizing detention centers and private prisons

Can you chip in $3, $5 or any amount today and support our fight? [[link removed]]

Many DACA recipients are breathing a sigh of relief today, John. And I join them in this moment of good news. I also vow to continue fighting for them and in Frankie’s memory.

In solidarity,

Eva
