Provide feedback on Washington’s draft Comprehensive Climate Action Plan
Attend the kick-off meeting, listening sessions, or complete the public comment form.
Washington has made progress on climate action and setting emissions limits, but we haven't had a comprehensive, economy-wide climate plan in more than a decade.
The Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP) serves as a roadmap for reducing emissions and building a sustainable future. It evaluates current policies, incorporates community input, and recommends new strategies developed through broad collaboration with tribes, communities, businesses and experts.
* *Attend the Kickoff June 30, 2-2:45 p.m. *- Register and attend the CCAP Public Comment Kick-Off Meeting (Zoom) [ [link removed] ] *This will be recorded and viewable throughout the public comment period.
The CCAP draft will be posted June 30 and includes:
* *Where we’ve been:* A record of statewide greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 through 2021.
* *Where we’re headed:* Statewide greenhouse gas emissions projections through 2050 based on current policies.
* *Where we need to go:* Legal limits on statewide greenhouse gas emissions through 2050.
* *How to get there:* A climate pollution reduction plan that spans the entire economy, with 36 greenhouse gas reduction strategies, made up of 150+ existing and proposed climate actions. All of these actions work together to address emissions from multiple sources.
* *Analysis of benefits and impacts of proposed climate actions*, especially for overburdened communities
* A preliminary workforce planning analysis.
* Information about *next steps.*
The final CCAP will be completed by *December 1, 2025.*
