Friend — Utah Senator Mike Lee just proposed a provision in the Republicans’ massive budget bill that would sell off millions of acres of public lands in 11 states, opening landscapes that communities rely on to polluters and developers.

This is a horrible provision — but it’s a risky move: Republicans can only afford to lose three votes in the Senate, and a handful of Republican lawmakers in the House have already said that this kind of sell-off would be a non-starter.

If we act now, we have a chance to sink this and other dangerous provisions that put corporate profits before people and our environment. But time is running out to apply as much pressure as possible before the Senate votes.

Friend, moments like these are why your LCV membership matters so much. Without your support, campaigns like ours to protect public lands simply wouldn’t be possible. Right now, you can make THREE TIMES the impact, thanks to a group of donors who will triple match your gift when you renew your membership.

We know what we’re up against. Our opponents have deep pockets and are pushing to pass this bill as quickly as possible — before the public notices how it sells off public lands, cuts healthcare, slashes clean energy, and exposes our communities to more pollution. We can’t let them get away with it.

LCV has been fighting Trump’s dirty energy for months: bringing environmental activists to Capitol Hill, activating our nationwide network, and filling lawmakers’ inboxes and voicemails with messages demanding that they protect public lands. And just this Saturday, millions across the country took to the streets to show Trump and Republicans that we won’t accept their power grabs. Now, we need YOUR HELP to keep up the pressure. There’s never been a better time to renew your membership — right now, you’ll have TRIPLE the impact.

Thank you for everything you do to make this work possible, Friend.
