Can you get this question right?

It’s World Sea Turtle Day! What a perfect time to brush up on your knowledge of these amazing animals.

John, I want to celebrate by sharing some of my favorite facts about sea turtles.

Sea turtles have existed for more than 100 million years! Today, there are 7 different species of sea turtle. Filling a vital role in the balance of marine habitats, they help maintain the health of seagrass beds and coral reefs, which benefit countless other species.

Sea turtles swim thousands of miles during their long lifetimes to find food, breed, and lay eggs. Females return to the same beaches where they hatched to lay their eggs—isn’t that amazing? Unfortunately, sea turtles face many threats caused by humans, such as accidental capture in commercial fishing gear, poaching, destruction of nesting beaches, and climate change.

Now, for the big question. Female sea turtles lay about 100 eggs in each nest. What are the odds that a baby sea turtle will survive to adulthood?
