Today is our Founder and Executive Director, Tara Gibson's birthday!
After the Supreme Court announced that Roe v. Wade had been overturned, Tara received calls from her friends and family asking what they could do to help.
That’s when Tara decided to create Roe Your Vote Virginia because she knows what's at stake – and because she's determined to protect our rights for generations to come.
With your help, we successfully flipped the House of Delegates blue and protected the State Senate in 2023, earning pro-choice Democrats a majority in BOTH caucuses.
Now, our goal is to make reproductive freedom a permanent right in Virginia’s constitution. The next major step in that mission is scheduled for November 2025: ensuring pro-choice leadership remains in control of the House of Delegates.
Tomorrow is the primary election here in Virginia, and our goal is to raise $10,000 before the polls close so we can immediately help the pro-choice Democrats who will be on the ballot in November.
We cannot think of a better way to celebrate our fantastic Executive Director than by hitting our fundraising goal and getting a step closer to protecting reproductive freedom in Virginia.
