A Louisville native, Charles joined his neighbors to protest for Black lives and justice for Breonna Taylor, the young Kentucky woman who was wrongfully murdered by Louisville police in her apartment. His grassroots campaign is built on the support of young people who are ready for change and tired of being ignored by Senator McConnell. He supports the Green New Deal in order to build a clean energy economy, create green jobs, and help pull our country out of the COVID-19 recession.

As a U.S. Senator, he will have the opportunity to promote racial, economic, and environmental justice nationally, joining the coalition of Congresspeople fighting for climate action and equitable economic recovery.
