Cutting Waste and Fraud from Bloated Federal Spending

For far too long, Washington has run on out-of-control spending at the expense and detriment of the American taxpayer. Not anymore. This week, the House passed H.R. 4, a recissions package to cut $9.4 billion in wasteful government spending.

Here are just a few examples:

• $1 million for voter ID in Haiti
• $6 million for "Net Zero Cities" in Mexico
• $3 million for Iraqi Sesame Street
• $2.1 million for climate resilience in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and East Africa
• $500,000 for electric buses in Rwanda

House Republicans are keeping our promise to restore fiscal sanity to Washington  and reverse years of reckless spending that drives inflation. 

Testifying Before the International Trade Commission

I also testified before the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) to urge the Commissioners to take immediate action and hold China accountable for unfair trade practices that are harming U.S. producers in the Low Speed Personal Transportation Vehicles (LSPTV) industry.

The massive influx of dumped and subsidized low speed personal transportation vehicles from China has threatened the future of the domestic LSPTV industry, including producers in Georgia's 12th District. The domestic industry is not looking for special treatment—just the opportunity to compete on a level playing field.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed three resolutions of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act, which repeal disastrous electric vehicle (EV) mandates. The EV mandates implemented under the Biden-Harris Administration were nothing more than top-down, big government policymaking. 

By signing these resolutions into law, which I was proud to support on the House floor, President Trump delivered a win for consumer choice. As I've always said, demand for electric vehicles should be market-driven, not government-manufactured. 

President Trump and House Republicans are committed to protecting America’s automotive future and stopping California from dictating the vehicles Americans can drive.

Applications for our 2025 Fall Internship Program are now open!

This program is open to college students and young professionals interested in learning about the legislative process and assisting with the responsibilities of a congressional office. Interns will perform a range of tasks including constituent outreach, legislative writing, and more, with the possibility of earning school credit.
