Marielena speaking to reporters about DACA

Friends,

The National Immigration Law Center and our courageous plaintiffs — Martín, Antonio, Eliana, Mariano, Carlos, Carolina, and Make the Road New York — took Donald Trump to court for attempting to terminate DACA, and we won! Today the Supreme Court ruled that the Trump administration’s termination of DACA was unlawful.

This means that hundreds of thousands of immigrant youth can continue to live, work, and be with their loved ones in the U.S.

This fight went to the Supreme Court because Trump wanted to use immigrant young people as bargaining chips in his attacks on immigrants and distract from his failure to lead and unify our country.

We know these attacks — and Trump’s divisive, racist rhetoric — will only continue. At a moment when millions of Americans from all backgrounds are protesting across our country against the murders of Black people by police, while all Trump can do is fan the flames of hatred, we are reminded of the important work ahead.

While today is a day to celebrate, our fight doesn’t end here.

This decision is another stark reminder about how important November's election is and why we need a president who will fight for immigrant youth instead of vilifying, attacking, and trying to deport them.

Friends, we are working tirelessly to defend immigrants by making Donald Trump a one-term president. Your partnership is crucial. Will you support our work?

Your contribution will help us educate and mobilize advocates to challenge immigration detention and deportation policies that tear families apart while making sure that Trump will be a one-term president.

Let’s remember that our communities fought for and won DACA.

¡Sí se pudo!
