Friends — this week, our country took a huge step forward with the historic Supreme Court ruling that extends legal protections from workplace discrimination to LGBTQ+ Americans.
This is an incredible and long fought for victory, and gives us all a wonderful reason to celebrate this Pride season.
The fight, however, is far from over.
Just earlier this week, the Trump Administration rolled back healthcare protections for the LGBTQ+ community — particularly transgender people.
Everyone at the Washington Senate Democrats remains committed to the fight for true equality for all Americans. Take the pledge, alongside our members, to continue advocating for LGBTQ+ rights here in Washington, the US, and worldwide »
Pride celebrations may feel different this year, but our message remains the same.
Born out of protest against injustice and oppression, Pride celebrates the diversity, dignity, equality, and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community.
Right now as mass protests for racial justice unfold across the nation, it is critical that we recognize the tireless work of Black and transgender people in the struggle for LGBTQ+ equality. From the first Pride at Stonewall to today, Black and transgender people have led the way in securing major victories for the LGBTQ+ community.
Take the pledge that you join us in standing alongside LGBTQ+ people: https://go.senatedemocrats.org/a/ stand-with-lgbtq-people
Together, we have the power to continue a unified fight against inequality and oppression in this country — for the LGBTQ+ community, the Black community, and for all communities that face injustice.

🚨Governor Inslee has issued an order to Stay Home, Stay Healthy 🚨
We ask that you join us in following this order by staying inside except for essential activities so we can all do our part to flatten the curve. For the safety of our community, candidates, and members we have canceled all in-person events for the foreseeable future.
That means we will be relying entirely on grassroots supporters like you to ensure our fight for WA values does not lose momentum.
You can stay up to date with all COVID-19 (Coronavirus) developments by visiting the CDC website and the WA State Dept. of Health website. |
