Indivisibles,
WHAT A WEEK FOR SCOTUS!
This is one of those rare joyous moments that we love to share. Since
2012, DACA has provided protection from deportation and the ability to
work and live without fear for over 825,000 young immigrants. Today, The
Supreme Court protected DACA, a victory immigrant youth fought decades
for. In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court rejected Trump’s white
supremacist agenda and sided with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood
Arrival) recipients and helped protect immigrant youth and our families
from Trump’s deportation force.
Since Trump took office in 2017, immigrant youth, our families, and allies
have been fighting to protect DACA. We celebrate today alongside our
partners leading the fight like United We Dream, National Immigration Law
Center (NILC), and many more immigrant-led movements. This victory is for
every young undocumented person whose life has been threatened by Trump’s
racist rhetoric and callous policies for the past few years -- we shout,
sing, cry with you because DACA is here to stay.
We would be remiss not to mention that this decision comes down in a time
that thousands of people are taking to the streets because of the murder
of Black people at the hands of the police. While combatting
anti-Blackness and systemic racism requires all of us to commit to action
that brings about change, white supremacist politicians -- like Donald
Trump and the Republicans who continue to support him -- hold a great
amount of responsibility over the attacks on Black people, Black
immigrants, and the immigrant community as a whole.
Learn, celebrate, and get ready for what’s next:
The Trump administration must end their baseless attacks on DACA. DACA is
Here to Stay and the majority of the American public agrees. [ [link removed] ]Earlier
this week we saw polling that across party lines the majority of Americans
are in favor of immigrant youth in the United States. In order for this
decision to stand, the American people have a choice to make this
November.

have experts and leaders in the movement joining to discuss and
celebrate the latest decision.
2. [ [link removed] ]Defund the Police, ICE, and the CBP. The fight to defund law
enforcement agencies continues! Call your local officials and demand
that they defund the police and invest those funds in resources people
need in Black communities, Indigenous communities, and communities of
color.
3. [ [link removed] ]Support the Payback Project to take back the Senate. We don’t see
immigrant lives as bargaining chips and we don’t want another four
years of state-sponsored violence. That’s why we’re working hard to
kick 11 of the worst Republican Senators out of office this year --
this means running ads, creating resources, sending mail, texting
voters, and more.
For Trump, ending DACA was always a way to use immigrant youth as a
bargaining chip for more money for his deportation force and racist border
wall. Now that the Supreme Court has made its decision, it's up to us to
continue to protect immigrants from deportation. Now, let’s get to it!
In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
