Folks, today was a major victory for nearly 700,000 DREAMers — nearly 150,000
of which live in Texas — and for our country’s values.

Since the beginning of his presidency, President Trump has attacked the DACA
program, an Obama-era executive order that allowed noncitizens brought to this
country as children to apply for protection from deportation. Today, the
Supreme Court ruled against the Trump administration, making good on the
promise our country made to these young people years ago.

The data is undeniable — DREAMers make our country stronger. They are our
teachers, our first responders, and our health care workers — they are American
in every sense of the word. And today, they were finally given the respect and
dignity every single one of them deserves.

But, let’s be clear: there is nothing stopping the Trump administration from
trying to end DACA again. We need a legislative fix, so no administration — not
this one or another — can again use these young people as political pawns.

If you’re with me in this very important fight to fix our broken immigration
system, will you chip in $20 to my campaign to help me get to Washington where
I will proudly fight for what truly makes our country so great?

Let’s build off of today’s incredible victory and not stop until we have a
fair and compassionate immigration system in America.
