John, you know me – I’ve never been afraid of getting my hands dirty, especially when it means solving a problem for a friend, neighbor, or constituent. Since day one in Congress, that’s been my guiding principle: common-sense solutions that make a positive, tangible impact on our communities.
That’s what’s important to me, and what should be important to any elected representative. But, you wouldn’t know that looking at the outrageous partisan budget bill that the House majority passed last month. My fellow Blue Dogs and I recently published an op-ed to call for a fair, responsible plan that actually helps working families:
“Is it so important to our colleagues across the aisle to give a handout to their mega-wealthy buddies that they would strap everyday Americans with even more crushing debt?”
But, my people-over-politics approach and refusal to give handouts to billionaires at the taxpayer’s expense has put me squarely in the crosshairs of far-right extremists whose only goal is to expand their power by further sowing division.
They have started launching attacks against me earlier than ever, in hopes of flipping WA-03 – we need to fight back. And with our public end-of-quarter filing deadline coming up, we can’t afford to be complacent now. Please rush in $10 to help us get back on track:
