Donald Trump is taking illegal actions that closely reflect a dictator – calling the National Guard on his citizens and retaliating against citizens for protesting against his disgraceful treatment of our immigrant communities.

And just yesterday, my home state’s U.S. Senator Alex Padilla was handcuffed and detained by the Trump administration for demanding answers from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. 

It’s plain and simple: Donald Trump continues to defy the Constitution, and his Republican allies in the House and Senate continue to remain silent.
