John, district attorneys are protecting protesters across the country.
The New York Times reported that just this week, four New York district attorneys in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx said they would “drop charges against protesters arrested on minor charges like unlawful assembly and disorderly conduct.”
In an attempt to push back, the NYPD sent the Manhattan DA a message: All the officers assigned to his office would be pulled off the job to help with “crowd control.”
Police departments are increasingly feeling the pressure from district attorneys who refuse to uphold the status quo. We've endorsed a slate of progressive candidates for DA offices across the country who would keep the pressure up on police. Can you make a $5 contribution today to help get them elected?
This is what we mean when we say that DAs have the most power of any elected official to disrupt mass incarceration and hold police accountable.
From San Francisco to New York, progressive district attorneys are protecting protesters and fighting against the mass incarceration status quo. We need more district attorneys like Chesa Boudin in San Francisco and John Creuzot in Dallas who will fight for real justice in their communities.
John, we need your support right now to keep fighting to elect progressive DAs. Can you make a contribution right now to power our work to reform our justice system and hold police accountable?
Thank you for all that you do for our movement!
