PRESIDENT TRUMP IS OPENING EXPORT MARKETS FOR IOWA AGRICULTURE I applaud President Trump for securing a trade deal with China. Opening export markets for Iowa agricultural commodities like corn, soybeans, pork, and other goods will support our producers and grow our rural communities. President Trump is an incredible friend to the American farmer! CHANGE OF COMMAND CEREMONY AT THE 185TH AIR REFUELING WING IN SIOUX CITY Last weekend, our Regional Director — Wes — attended the Change of Command Ceremony at the 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City. Colonel Adam Carlson is the new commander of the 185th and is seen receiving the Change of Command Flag from General Mark Muckey. Outgoing commander, Colonel Sonya Morrison, will serve as the Inspector General for the Air National Guard Bureau at Andrews Air Force Base right outside of D.C. CELEBRATING SAGE'S WIN AGAINST LEUKEMIA It was great to meet Betsey and Forrest Young, and their son, Sage, who has been battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia for over 3 years. Sage recently rang the bell signifying that he BEAT cancer! Kids like Sage, his family, and his incredible doctors are an inspiration to us all. DELIVERING THE LARGEST WORKING AND MIDDLE CLASS TAX CUT IN HISTORY President Trump's "One, Big, Beautiful Bill" delivers the LARGEST working and middle class TAX CUT in American history. This legislation lets American families and workers keep more of their hard-earned money — just the way it should be. CELEBRATING ROCK VALLEY'S FLOOD RECOVERY PROGRESS On Tuesday morning, our Regional Director — Wes — was in Rock Valley for a ceremony celebrating the progress made so far in the city’s recovery from last summer’s floods. I’m grateful to Governor Reynolds for her unwavering support and thank Mayor Kevin Van Otterloo for his leadership. RECOGNIZING ALZHEIMER'S AWARENESS MONTH As we recognize Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, it was a pleasure to meet with Iowans from the Iowa Alzheimer’s Association. With roughly 7 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s, we had an informative conversation about how we can work together to end Alzheimer's and support patients. SUPPORTING COMMUNITY BANKS AND RURAL LENDING I always enjoy meeting with the Iowa Bankers Association to talk about ways that we can support our community banks and rural lending. I’m glad that provisions from my ACRE Act were included in President Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” to lower the cost of securing and administering ag loans. THANKING PRESIDENT TRUMP AND SECRETARY ROLLINS FOR PUTTING AMERICAN FARMERS FIRST Under the Trump administration, we are unleashing an American energy BOOM, and Iowa has a critical role to play. Our homegrown biofuels lower gas prices and fuel our rural economies. Thank you to President Trump and Secretary Rollins for putting the American farmer first. PRESIDENT TRUMP'S "ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL" WILL DELIVER FOR RURAL AMERICA On Wednesday, during a House Ways and Means Committee hearing, Treasury Secretary Bessent confirmed what we know about President Trump's "One, Big, Beautiful Bill." It will DELIVER for Rural America. From tax cuts for farmers to investments in farm equipment, this legislation will grow our rural communities! PROTECTING OUR SAFETY NETS FROM WASTE, FRAUD, AND ABUSE Under President Trump's "One, Big, Beautiful Bill," we are simply eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse from taxpayer-funded programs. That means we are PROTECTING SNAP and Medicaid for Americans in need, not illegal immigrants. This is fiscal responsibility to the taxpayer! ONE LAST THING: PROUD TO BE ON TEAM USA! It was great to play in the Congressional Baseball Game for Charity on Wednesday night. More than 30,000 tickets were sold with more than $2.8 million raised for charity. Republicans beat the Democrats—for the fifth straight year—by a margin of 13-2. I’m proud to be on Team USA! MY WEEKLY COLUMN: SPEAKING WITH TREASURY SECRETARY BESSENT AND AGRICULTURE SECRETARY ROLLINS ON CAPITOL HILL On Wednesday June 11th, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins traveled to Capitol Hill to testify before the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Agriculture Committee, respectively. As the only member of Congress serving on these two pivotal committees, I had the opportunity to speak directly with these incredibly talented cabinet secretaries who are delivering on President Trump’s economic and agricultural agenda. I appreciate their willingness to come before Congress to discuss the historic work of the Trump administration on behalf of American families, farmers, workers, and small businesses.
