Yesterday was another tragic day for our nation’s view of marriage and the sanctity of life.

MPs approved the no-fault divorce Bill for England and Wales, overwhelmingly rejecting even a modest amendment to improve the Bill.

And they backed regulations imposing a liberal abortion regime on Northern Ireland, by 253 votes to 136.

Like us, you are no doubt deeply disappointed by the way they have ignored concerns over the damage this will inflict on families and society for generations.

The Bible teaches that God designed marriage as the lifelong union of one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6). It also makes clear that all human life is created in God’s image and so is intrinsically valuable from conception (Genesis 1:26; Psalm 139:14-16). These truths remain, whatever the politicians may say.

In our disappointment at these results, we give thanks for those who are still willing to stand for what is right. Please continue to pray for Christians and others of good will in Parliament, that they will have courage and not become weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9).
