John,

U.S. Senator Mike Lee just proposed requiring millions of acres of public lands be sold off.[1]

There's still time to protect these precious natural places. Urge your U.S. senators to keep public land public.

It's early morning in southeastern Utah. Wildflowers bob their pastel heads in the light breeze. A bobcat slinks along a copper-colored cliff as a pair of California condors circle overhead.

All is calm. These creatures don't know that in distant Washington D.C., politicians are debating the fate of this tranquil landscape and all who live upon it.

Not only could this proposal result in the loss of vast swaths of pristine nature across 11 states, it would require the federal government to sell off public land throughout the country with little to no say from the American people.[2]

Even if your favorite fishing hole or climbing route isn't sold today, there's no promising that this proposal won't pave the way for its sale tomorrow.

Tell your U.S. senators today: Reject any proposal to sell away our public lands.

Set aside and maintained for the enjoyment of all, our public lands shape American identity and embody this country's dedication to protecting its natural splendor.

They also foster the biodiversity necessary for healthy ecosystems. Thousands of species live on our public lands.[3]

Selling critical habitat off to generate revenue for the federal budget is reprehensible -- this land and the life it supports deserve so much better.

The land cannot speak for itself, but we can.

In defense of our national parks, national forests, national monuments and all the other precious public places, tell your U.S. senators: Don't sell our public lands.
