I always want to be transparent with you, friend. Nonprofits are facing tremendous challenges this year. Unfortunately, we haven’t gone unscathed.

We are facing an unexpected shortfall of $15,000 for the year. If we cannot close the gap soon, this shortfall could mean cutting back on our organizing, halting our powerful Deadly By Design storytelling project, or less hard-hitting accountability for legislators who vote against public safety. The good news is that I know advocates like you can help us close the gap.

Together, we’ve passed legislation to disarm abusers. We've won massive investments in community-based violence intervention programs. We’ve built a robust network that includes faith leaders, doctors, nurses, parents, and survivors to demand a life free from gun violence. Gun homicides dropped drastically in 2023 and 2024 in large part because of policy changes we won together.

As the Trump administration continues to roll back progress by cutting deals with the gun lobby, defunding community violence prevention and survivor support programs, and reinterpreting the law to allow more illegal guns on the streets, we must accelerate the progress we're making in Pennsylvania.
