I believe that only U.S. citizens should vote in U.S elections, but Democrats in Congress disagree.

Under Washington, D.C.’s weak election integrity system, a noncitizen working in an embassy, holding a foreign passport, can walk out of the office, down the street, and into a polling location to vote. All they have to do is live in D.C. for thirty days.

This week, I supported legislation that would end D.C’s radical practice of allowing noncitizens to vote in elections.

The reform is a simple but powerful part of returning integrity and security to our elections. It ensures that only American citizens can vote in American elections in our nation’s capital. No citizen’s vote should be canceled out by a foreign national or illegal immigrant.

Ensuring that only citizens vote in U.S. elections shouldn’t be controversial, yet Democrats and the Left are terrified that we want to protect the integrity of our elections - why?

It’s common sense that only citizens should vote in our elections, but apparently some on the Left disagree. I’m proud to have helped lead the fight against noncitizen voting, but our work is not done.

The Left wants to use Washington, D.C. as a petri dish to test their radical policies before the 2026 election. We cannot allow them to succeed.

We must continue to do everything we can to ensure our elections are safe, secure, and fair.
