Dear John,
Since the coronavirus outbreak began, our society has pulled together to achieve extraordinary things.
Thousands of people sleeping rough were given accommodation in hotels in just a few weeks. Government action stopped others from losing their homes by stopping evictions and increasing housing benefits. And communities came together to make sure that those most exposed to the virus were safe. For every part you played in this, thank you.
We need to work together now to make sure this progress isn’t undone.
In just a few weeks’ time, many people who have been safely housed in hotels in England will need to leave them as funding comes to an end. And across Great Britain, thousands of people are facing homelessness for the first time because of the economic impact of coronavirus.
We stand at a crossroads: we can build on the incredible progress that has been made, by helping everyone move on into a secure and permanent home; or we risk seeing thousands of people being forced onto our streets or into unstable and sometimes dangerous living situations.
Which is why today I’m asking you to join our new campaign, Home For All, calling for permanent change to end homelessness in Great Britain.
We can only do this if we all work together. There are lots of ways you can make a difference that I’ll be sharing with you over the next few weeks, but first we need to spread the word that now is our opportunity to end homelessness.
Please can you help seize this moment by sharing this message with your friends and family? |

By sharing your support, you’re showing that now is the time to create the society we want to live in. A society that looks after each other and where no-one is pushed into homelessness.
Ending homelessness is within our grasp. What we do in the next weeks can make it a reality.
Thank you, |
