Just The News (6/12/25) reports: "President Donald Trump on Thursday signed three resolutions that repeal waivers the Biden-Harris Administration’s EPA granted to California allowing it to ban the sale of gas-powered cars, engines and big rigs by 2035. 'We officially rescued the U.S. auto industry from destruction by terminating California’s electric vehicle mandate,' Trump said in the White House signing ceremony, according to CNBC. The waivers allowed California to set vehicle emission standards more stringent than the federal government. Because 11 states and the District of Columbia have adopted California’s regulations, and because manufacturers understand that California is the largest market for new cars by far, experts say California’s EV mandate would have functioned as a national EV mandate. 'National policy should not be dictated by individual states or un-elected bureaucrats. It was unconscionable that the previous administration ever allowed such a thing to happen,' Tom Pyle, president of the American Energy Alliance said in a statement."

"Our Constitution does not allow one State special status to create standards that limit consumer choice and impose an electric vehicle mandate upon the entire Nation."

Fox News (6/12/25) reports: "A national security-focused nonprofit organization has released a comprehensive report detailing the workings of a well-funded nominally U.S.-based organization that it says is undermining American energy, pushing left-wing green initiatives and ultimately advancing Chinese interests. The report, published by State Armor, outlines the money trail of Energy Foundation China (EFC), registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is technically headquartered in San Francisco but with employees mostly based in Beijing...State Armor found that EFC has "spent millions each year to bankroll climate advocates who promote phasing out fossil fuels and implementing green energy alternatives like the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) and Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the latter of which was the target of a 2018 Congressional inquiry into whether it should register as a foreign agent based on its Chinese funding.'...The report goes on to outline how the organization has 'provided millions' to the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) to support "a clean energy future" and how ICCT was an 'active supporter' of climate initiatives in the Inflation Reduction Act targeting increased battery electric trucking infrastructure."

Secretary Wright nails it. "Let consumers decide."

The best way to protect Americans from volatility is to unleash American energy producers.


BBC (6/13/25) reports: "Global oil prices have jumped after Israel said it had struck Iran, in a dramatic escalation of tensions in the Middle East. The price of the benchmark Brent crude was up by more than 10% shortly after the news emerged, reaching its highest level since January. Traders are concerned that a conflict between Iran and Israel could disrupt supplies coming from the energy-rich region. The cost of crude oil affects everything from how much it costs to fill up your car to the price of food at the supermarket. After the initial jump, oil prices eased a little. But Brent crude was still about 8% higher than Thursday's closing price, trading at about $74.65 a barrel."
