Hi there ––
My name is Mark Field and when it comes to being "Cody’s Dad," I wear the title with pride!
When Cody was first diagnosed with an intellectual disability (ID), doctors told me he’d never progress beyond a 4th-grade level. But with the support of Special Olympics, he’s proven them wrong time and time again.
Special Olympics has helped Cody shine in ways I could never have imagined. He’s not just an alpine skier or a snowboarder, he’s a confident speaker, a leader in his community, and an all-star athlete!
Special Olympics helped Cody find his place through moments like these:
- Finding acceptance: After being bullied on a club team, Cody found support and belonging with the Cherry Creek Alpine Racing Team and immediately began to thrive.
- Reaching the podium: After 8 years of trying, Cody and his Unified Partner finally won silver at the X Games Unified Race in Aspen. Perseverance paid off.
- Living the dream: A lifelong WWE fan, Cody made history as WWE’s first Special Olympics Community Correspondent reporting live from WrestleMania XL!
I hope you’ll join me in lifting up athletes like Cody, who keep proving what’s possible when they’re given the chance to shine.
